Abstract :

Combined endoimplant lesions, a complex interplay of endodontic infection and peri-implant pathologies, pose unique challenges in clinical dentistry. This presentation provides a comprehensive overview of the diagnostic strategies and treatment modalities available for managing these intricate lesions.
The diagnostic phase in addition to a meticulous clinical examination, relies on advanced imaging techniques, such as cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT).
Treatment options vary based on the etiology and severity of the combined endoimplant lesion. Nonsurgical endodontic treatment and nonsurgical peri-implantitis therapy, are considered in the early stages, however, advanced cases may require surgical interventions.
This presentation provides a roadmap for diagnosis, prognosis, and alternative treatment options of those combined lesions to improve patient care.

Learning objectives :

  • Assess the potential risk of endo-implant lesions.
  • Evaluate the endodontic prognosis in cases with complex endo-perio involvement.
  • Identify therapeutical management of periimplantitis next to endodontic lesions.
  • Develop treatment options for endodontic peri-implant defects.
