Working Groups
Task Teams and Working Groups may be established by Council to consider matters that do not fall within the purview of any Standing Committee.
The Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Working Group has developed a white paper on the essential role of the dental team in reducing antibiotic resistance, with a supporting online library of resources. Given that dentists prescribe almost 10% of all antibiotics, oral health professionals need to be involved in the development and implementation of national action plans to counter antibiotic resistance. The AMR Working Group reports to Science Committee.
The Ethics Working Group monitors the principles of ethical business of FDI, considers any ethical and moral issues raised, and suggest improvements.
In the interest of continuous improvement of communication between Standing Committees, and to align the work across all structures of FDI, in 2022 the Council formally established the Chairs of Standing Committees Working Group.
The Working Group guides the effective implementation and monitoring of FDI's Vision 2030, which shows great alignment with WHO's resolution on oral health and resulting mechanisms. The ambition being to ensure the resolution becomes a game changer for the lives of the communities our members serve. The Implementation and Monitoring Working Group reports to the Advocacy Task Team.
