Abstract :
Over the past 20 years, laser dentistry has evolved into a game-changer. Beyond simplifying surgical procedures, high and low-level lasers elevate daily dentistry when infection control, inflammation management, and tissue regeneration are essential. This lecture focuses on optimization: the strategic use of diode lasers to achieve superior results while maximizing clinical efficiency throughout the implant workflow.
First, lasers improve clinical efficiency by reducing recovery times, sessions, and surgical morbidity, while facilitating precise impressions or scans. Second, they enhance soft tissue management, simplifying second-stage surgery, vestibuloplasties, and frenectomies to ensure a stable band of attached gingiva.
Furthermore, we utilize Photobiomodulation (PBM) for biological enhancement to accelerate soft tissue healing and bone remodeling. This advanced protocol effectively reduces pain, minimizes edema, and stimulates lymphatic drainage. Finally, lasers optimize complication management, resolving mucositis and peri-implantitis through superior bacterial reduction and granulation tissue removal.
Learning objectives :
- Optimize Workflow Efficiency
Identify the strategic impact of diode lasers to reduce recovery times, surgical morbidity, and session counts, while accelerating everyday clinical workflows
- Master Soft Tissue Management
Execute precise protocols for second-stage surgery, vestibuloplasties, and frenectomies, ensuring stable attached gingiva and clean digital scans
- Apply PBM for Tissue Healing
Utilize Photobiomodulation parameters to accelerate bone remodeling and soft tissue healing, effectively minimizing postoperative pain and edema
- Resolve Implant Complications
Implement advanced laser protocols for superior bacterial reduction and granulation tissue removal to successfully treat mucositis and peri-implantitis.
