Abstract
Tooth wear is invariably accompanied by dentoalveolar compensation, which can present a challenge for restorative dentists, particularly when tooth wear is localized. Managing localized anterior tooth wear is demanding, as it necessitates preserving the remaining tooth structure while ensuring the teeth and restorations function effectively for an extended period. One treatment approach is the Dahl concept, introduced over 40 years ago, which provides a safe, straightforward, and minimally invasive method for creating localized interocclusal space for definitive restorations
Learning Objectives
To examine the reasoning behind the treatment plan for localized anterior tooth wear. To explore the indications, contraindications, advantages, and disadvantages of the Dahl concept. To outline a step-by-step approach for managing localized anterior tooth wear using the Dahl technique and adhesive restorations. |
