FDI 2103 Istanbul: Preliminary Programme imminent

01 February 2013

FDI is in the process finalizing the FDI 2013 Istanbul Preliminary Programme, due to be mailed out priority by the middle of February. It gives an overview of the congress scientific programme as of 25 January, some general information and the congress itself and details of accommodation prices and reservation conditions.

For those—and we think there are many—who wish to combine their congress continuing education with a vacation experience in Istanbul and Turkey, today considered one of the world’s prime tourism destinations, the Programme outlines an exciting range of options.

4,200 m2 exhibition space sold!
Already, the congress exhibition looks to be a record breaker, with some 4,200 square metres of exhibition space—about 80% of the total available—already booked, a significant increase increase on previous years during the same period of the congress schedule.

To date, 104 companies have registered, with two national pavilions—American and German—now confirmed. Firms interested in seizing the opportunity for maximum international exposure should visit the Exhibition and Sponsorship page of the FDI 2013 Istanbul website or contact fdi2013@k2-events.com for more information.

International visibility
FDI is also taking advantage of its agreements with other partners to ensure the visibility of its 2013 Annual World Dental Congress at key international events. In the immediate future, FDI booths are planned at the 17th edition of the United Arab Emirates International Dental Conference & Arab Dental Exhibition (AEEDC – Dubai, 5 to 7 February) and the Midwinter Meeting of the Chicago Dental Society (Chicago, 21 to 23 February).

FDI has been a regular participant in AEEDC since it first opened its doors in the 1990s. In 2007, it held its own Annual World Dental Congress in Dubai, which saw the world launch of the ‘Dental Ethics Manual’.

For its part, the Midwinter Meeting has traditionally been a showcase for introducing new FDI projects and ideas—last year saw the launch of FDI’s political advocacy guide on noncommunicable diseases.

This year is no exception, with the first meeting scheduled of the Task Team set up to advise on the implementation of FDI’s landmark Vision 2020.
